ERROR INDIAN QUEEN BITTERS BI-1 Ring / Ham # B224. 12" tall,
figural Indian Queen shape, sheared, ground lip and a smooth base. Nice glass
coloration with many different shades of light to dark orange amber. Color is
lighter in the lip area, darker in the shoulder to the arms, a nice lighter
color from below the arms to below the knees and then darker again to the base
of the bottle. circa 1868 -1875. Embossed in slug plate 0n bottom left side is :
" BROWN'S / CELEBATED ( note error in spelling ) / INDIAN HERB BITTERS "
Embossed on rear panel near the base : " PATENTED / FEB 11 / 1868" A very nice
bottle in mint condition! In the shearing & grinding process of the lip, some
chipping has accrued. This is in the making and not considered damage. Noted for
accuracy only, does not take anything away from this piece.

BI-2 9 5/8" tall, Lt. orange amber glass, BIM with a tooled lip and
smooth base, square shape with beveled corners and two indented panels. Front
panel is embossed: " CALIFORNIA FIG / BITTERS " second panel is
embossed: " CALIFORNIA EXTRACT OF FIG CO. / SAN FRANCISCO,
CAL. " Bottle is in near mint condition with some very light dirt on the bottom
front panel and left side panel. Also, there is a pot stone in the second A in
California on the back panel. (see third picture) There is a flake of glass
missing and also three small legs coming off of the pot stone. These are not bad
and do not de-track from this nice western bitters bottle. Base is embossed with
PCGW. PACIFIC COAST GLASS WORKS. $85.00
BI-3 Ring / Ham # F16. 8" tall,
round, ABM , yellow / green color glass. Embossed on base only: "
FERNET BRANCA " Bottle has full labels that are in near mint
condition. All readable! Among other things the label reads,
"recommended and used in every country of the world as a bitter and stimulant to
the appetite." Bottle is mint with some content dirt left in the bottle. This
product was made by Fratelli Branca & Co. New York

WESTERN
BITTER FLASK BI-4
Ring / Ham # Y4. (short) 8 1/4" tall, crude bent applied top. This is a very
early 1870's version of this flask style bottle that has the curved R's,
characteristic of the western glass houses. The embossing is very bold and The Yerba Buena embossing looks like it started
running before the glass cooled. Embossed on two opposite side panels : " YERBA
BUENA / BITTERS, S. F. CAL. " Coloring is a nice light golden amber and this
bottle has lighter color swirls that go from the top to about 3/4 of the way
down towards the base. Mint condition
there is are two spots of internal haze (not bad) and a small spot of in the
making roughness on the ring below the lip. Only noted for accuracy, does not
take anything away from this very nice piece. No
chips, cracks, dings or pings! $150.00
BI-5 UNLISTED VARIANT Ring / Ham # B79. 4 1/8" tall,
sample size, round, yellow / green in color with crude glass. Very nice color!
Smooth base with a tooled, rounded collar lip. Embossed on the bottle from base
to shoulder : "DR BERGELT'S
/ MAGENBITTER / RICHARD BAUMEYER" Near mint
condition with no chips, cracks or stain. The bottle does have a bruise to the
very top of the lip. There is no glass missing though. A very rare sample
bitters bottle that I have never seen before!

BI-6
101/2" tall, early ABM, rounded barrel shape with
medium orange amber glass. Has 99.9% complete label that is not faded but
darkened with age that mentions BITTER as well as a lot of other writing that is
not in English. There are a few, very small, pieces of the edges of label that
are missing. No bad at all, a very nice label! Bottle has 7 rings on the
shoulder and 6 rings on the base. Embossed on front : " HESPERIDINA /
BAGLEY / UN BARRIL / INDUSTRIA ARGENTINA " Base has
a triangle embossed with C R B around it. Very nice, mint condition piece with
no problems at all. Inside of bottle still remains an old cork and spots of
content residue that would clean out with some care being given to the label (
looks like small bubbles in the glass ). The base has four felt pads attached to
help keep the bottle from sliding. These were put on by the former owner and can
quite easily be taken off. The last one of these I saw, sold at Glass Works
Auctions for over $400 not counting the10% commission & shipping costs! $250.00
BI-7 9 1/8" tall,
square shape, BIM with a tooled top and smooth base. Orange
amber glass with some spots of interior dirt. No stain, chips, cracks or dings. Embossed
on front panel : "LASH'S / KIDNEY / AND / LIVER / BITTERS " Embossed on
the back : " THE BEST CATHARTIC / AND BLOOD PURIFIER " A nice clean bottle!

BI-7A 9 1/2" tall, square shape with rounded edges, ABM
bottle with " F G W " embossed on the smooth base. Orange amber glass, lighter
in the shoulder area and darker in the base area. Embossed on front panel :
" LASH'S / BITTERS " Bottle does have some spots of interior dirt, that
would clean and some minor spotty haze on the front panel by the TERS in
bitters. No other stain, chips, cracks or dings. A very shallow open burst
bubble is on the left side panel of bottle. Noted for accuracy.

Ring / Ham # L70. 11 1/4" tall, whiskey type cylinder shape with a tooled lip.
Yellow green glass, three mould bottle with some nice seed bubbles and whittle
to the glass. Embossed on edge base, "Burgunder Wein Bitter Leipziger"
Embossed on inner edge of the kick-up of the bottle, "The Hochstadter Co. Some light spots of
inside haze and an ice pick chip on the lip keep this bottle from being mint. A
rare bitters bottle in a great color! $50.00
BI-9 10" tall,
log cabin form bottle with 6 logs above a label space.
Orange amber in color with lighter amber color in the outside corners and roof
panels of the bottle. Nice color!
Smooth base with an applied lip. Embossed on the front roof panels :
" S T / DRAKES / 1860 / PLANTATION / X
/ BITTERS " On rear roof panels : " PATENT / 1862 "
On same roof panel. Near mint
condition with no chips, cracks, dings or stain. There are two burst bubbles,
one on the left rear corner and the other about 1" to the right of the first one
on the lower rear roof panel. You have to feel them, very hard to see. Some
light base wear. Nice bottle with some uneven glass panels. This bottle would grace anyone's
shelf!

BI-10 7" tall, case gin style bottle, clear glass, BIM with
a tooled top and a smooth indented base. Embossed on the front panel : "
LITTHAUER STOMACH BITTERS / INVENTEB (suppose to be invented?) 1864 / BY JOSEF
LOEWENTHAL" This bottle is in super mint condition with no chips, cracks,
dings or stain. A very rare bitters bottle to get in this size.

11 1/2" tall, aqua glass, round cylinder form with two flat front & back panels. The front panel
is embossed : " DAMIANA BITTERS " The back panel is embossed : " BAJA
CALIFORNIA ". Smooth base with a tooled lip. Near mint condition with some light
spots of haze and a pin-point ping on the heal of the base. Haze would tumble
out. Nice stretch lines in the neck and quite a few air bubbles. A nice western aqua glass bitters bottle.

corners, orange amber glass, applied ring lip with a smooth base. Embossed on front
just under shoulder : " PERUVIAN / BITTERS " Embossed on rear :
monogram of the Wilmerding & Kellogg Co. of San Francisco. Near mint condition with
a few light scuffs and a very small ping on the back near the left base corner some
nice
character to the glass. $65.00
BI-13 10" tall,
log cabin form, applied top and a smooth base. This bottle has 6 logs above a label space.
Also has some very nice coloration to the glass. Light orange amber in the top
area, yellow amber color in the center and corners and then light orange amber color in the
base area. A nice color that my pictures do not do justice too! Embossed on the front roof panels :

On same roof panel. Near mint
condition with no cracks, dings or stain. There is a chip on the front
panel between the two T's in BITTERS and some
light base wear. Nice light colored bottle with some crude, bubbly glass. There
is a little twist to the glass in the base area also.

BI-14 Ring / Ham #
G45. 9 3/8" tall, semi cabin
form, aqua color, applied lip and a smooth base. Bottle looks very similar to
the Doyle's Bitter bottle. Embossed on shoulder on four separate panels : " T T
& Co. / HOP / BITTERS / 1884 " Embossed on front panel : trade mark design
within a diamond shape slug plate / GIPPS LAND / HOP BITTERS / CO. " A rare
bitters bottle in aqua glass. Bottle is in near mint condition but does have a
few scuffs and a small chip on the right front corner near the shoulder and a
spot of light haze on the inside left corner that looks like it would clean. A
nice bottle! $200.00

3/8"
tall, squat square body with a long neck, early ABM, smooth base. Very nice yellow green glass with a
square collar lip. Embossed, (motif of walking) " Elephant / Carl Mampe / Berlin " A nice sample German bitters bottle with
no damage at all. Super mint condition! except for a small spot of dirt on the
inside left shoulder. ( would clean ) $45.00

8 1/4" tall, aqua glass, round shape with a very different tooled lip and a
smooth base. (please see pictures) I have never seen another with a lip like
this. Embossed on the base only: " J. WALKER'S / V. B. " This is a western
bitters bottle. V. B. is for vegetable bitters. Near mint condition, has some
spotty inside haze and a very small chip on the lip. Hundreds of seed (air)
bubbles! Nice bottle! $35.00

crude applied lip and a smooth base. Embossed on the base only: " J. WALKER'S /
V. B. " This is a western bitters bottle. V. B. is for vegetable bitters. Super
mint condition with some nice bubbles in the glass!

BI-19 SEMI CABIN FORM 9
1/2" tall, dark orange amber glass with lighter shading in the center of the
bottle, applied, drippy glass lip and a smooth base. Embossed on front panel is
a picture of hop leaves and two (2) berries. Embossed in four (4) different
panels around top : " 1872 / DOYLES / HOP / BITTERS " Bottle is in super mint
condition with no problems at all. Nice texture to the glass and some larger
bubbles in the glass makes this a good specimen piece.

cylinder form with a ABM top and smooth base. Embossed on front: " LASH'S
/ BITTERS CO. / NEW YORK. CHICAGO. / SAN FRANCISCO ". Base is marked I P G Co (
within a diamond ). Trade mark of the Illinois Pacific Glass Co. in San
Francisco. A western made bitters bottle in mint condition!
