Medicine Bottles

ME- 1 10 3/8" tall, orange amber glass, BIM, with a sheared tooled top and a smooth base. Embossed on front panel only : " GERM, BACTERIA OR / FUNGUS DESTROYER / ( within shield ) WM. RADAM'S MICROBE KILLER / picture of a man clubbing a skeleton / REGISTERED TRADE MARK / CURES / ALL / DISEASES " A nice clean bottle with no chips, stain or cracks. There is a small ping on the right of the shield on the front of the bottle. No glass is missing! Embossing is a little weak but very readable. These bottles are becoming very hard to get in any condition! $150.00

ME- 2 4 1/2" tall, ABM, Lt. yellow amber glass. Yellowier in the shoulder area, squat cylinder form. Bottle has a smooth base. Bottle is embossed on front : " AETHER / PRO NARCOSI / SCHERING "(in cursive). This is a bottle that held ether for putting people to sleep for medical procedures. The Schering Co. is a worldwide pharmaceutical company. This bottle being from Germany or Europe. Bottle is in n-mint condition with only some light inside haze. No chips, cracks, scratches, dings or pings. A nice narcotic bottle! SOLD

ME- 3 7 3/4" tall, aqua glass, BIM with a tooled top with a smooth base, rectangle shape with camphor corners and 3 sunken panels. Very nice block embossing on the front panel only : " WILLSONS / MONARCH REMEDIES / EDGERTON WIS. " This bottle is in mint condition with nice unusual embossing and some nice bubbles. No chips, cracks, scratches, stain or dings. A rare bottle from a small Wisconsin town. $28.00

ME- 4 LARGE WESTERN MEDICINE. 8" tall, bright western aqua glass with hundreds of small bubbles, tooled double collar lip with a smooth base, rectangle shape with camphor corners and 4 sunken panels. Embossed on the front panel only: " VIGOR OF LIFE ". This bottle is said to come from the Sacramento, California area. Bottle is near mint with only a pen point flake of glass missing from the underside heal on base. Does not detract anything from this bottle. $55.00

ME- 5 9 1/2" tall, square shape, yellow - green glass, applied top with a smooth base. Three panels embossed. The first: " Dr TOWNSEND'S " second: " SARSAPARILLA " third: " ALBANY / N. Y. " Super mint condition with loads of bubbles and crudeness to the glass. A beautiful color! $195.00

ME- 6 8 3/4" tall, light orange amber with yellow amber in the shoulder area, square shape, Western bottle with a smooth base and a ABM lip. Three of the four panels are embossed. First panel : " CELRO - KOLA CO. PORTLAND, ORE. " second panel : (in fancy script) " CELRO - KOLA " third panel : (in fancy script) " CELRO - KOLA ". Super mint condition with no chips, cracks, dings, stain or scratches. A rare bottle, I have only seen a few of these. $55.00

ME- 7 11" tall, light orange amber, round cylinder with a bulge neck. Smooth base with a ABM lip. Label only, no embossing. (Please see larger pictures). From the CELRO - KOLA CO. PORTLAND, ORE. / TIP - TOP - BRACER. A very colorful label in very close to mint condition. A little bit of the top band label is missing off of the cork. Bottle has never been opened and has full content. Nice looking bottle that is also in mint condition! $30.00

ME- 8 7 3/4" tall, ( large ) orange amber, rectangle shape with camphor corners. Smooth base with a tooled lip. Embossed on front: " CLEMENTS TONIC ". Very crude, wavy glass. Bottle is in super mint condition. Glass has many bubbles and whittle, neck and lip lean to the right!. Nice looking bottle. $45.00

ME- 9 6 3/4" tall, ( small ) orange amber, rectangle shape with camphor corners. Smooth base with a tooled lip. Embossed on front: " CLEMENTS TONIC ". Crude glass & bottle is in super mint condition. Glass has many bubbles and character. Another nice looking tonic bottle. $40.00

ME- 10 CLASSIC CURE BOTTLE 8 1/4" tall, aqua glass, tooled top, rectangle shape with beveled corners and 4 indented panels. Embossing reads on the front panel: " THE GREAT / DR. KILMER'S / SWAMP- / ROOT KIDNEY / LIVER & / BLADDER / CURE / SPECIFIC " On side panel is embossed: " DR. KILMER & CO. " On other side panel is embossed: " BINGHAMTON, N. Y. " Super mint condition with no problems at all. No stain, cracks, dings, or scratches. Some nice character to the glass! $30.00

ME- 11 6 1/4" tall, rectangle shape with four beveled corners, BIM with a tooled lip. Light cornflower blue glass with a wavy base. Please see last picture. Front panel embossed: " BARROW EVANS " / " HAIR RESTORER " This bottle is in n-mint condition with some lip roughness ( surface pot stones? ) and a pin point chip on the lip and a few scuffs on the back. Only noted for accuracy does not detract from this bottle at all. A nice color for this hair restorer bottle! SOLD

ME- 12 8 3/4" tall, deep orange amber glass, BIM, with a smooth base that has the marking from the Holt Glass in West Berkley, California. Square shape. Embossed on the front panel only: " W. M. JOHNSON'S / PURE HERB TONIC / SURE CURE / FOR ALL MALARIAL DISEASES ". This is a very rare western cure bottle from the small ( then ) town of Marysville, California. Bottle is in super mint condition with no chips, cracks, scratches, dings or stain. There is a surface bubble on the lip that is not broken. $300.00

ME- 13 1880's, Nice Western Medicine: 6 1/2" tall, rectangular shape, aqua glass, tooled lip and a smooth base. Has 4 indented panels of which 3 are embossed. Embossed on front panel: " HALL'S PULMONARY BALSAM " Embossed on side panel : " J. R. GATES & CO. " Embossed on other side panel: " PROPRIETORS S. F. " This bottle is in super mint condition and has some nice crudeness and bubbles. At first touch of the top of the lip, feels like small chipping but it is folds and drips left from the maker of the bottle. Just not a clean tooling job! This bottle also has the curved R's of the Western glass houses. A nice bottle with lots of character. $50.00

ME-14 8 1/4" tall, light blue glass, round cylinder shape, tooled square collar lip and a smooth base. This bottle is un-embossed. Nice color and texture to the glass. Near mint except for a 1/8" Flake on lip and a wisp of inside haze. A nice window bottle. SOLD

ME-15 4 5/8" tall, open pontil with a inward rolled lip. Lt. aqua color. Unlisted with this embossing: (side panel) "Act. Of Congress" (front) "R R R / Radway & Co / New Yok" (misspelled) (other side panel) "Entd. Acord. (misspelled) To". N-mint bottle with only some spots of very light haze. $55.00

ME- 16 8 5/8" tall, aqua glass, rectangle with a applied crude lip and smooth base. Embossed: " WM. H. Gregg M.D. / New York" (on front). "Constitution" (on one side). "Life Syrup" (on other side). Back plain for label. Front and side panels are beveled and have gothic type arches. Lots of imperfections to the glass. Mint condition, with no chips, cracks or stains. SOLD

ME- 17 7 7/8" tall, aqua glass round cylinder shape with a ring lip and smooth base. A nice clean western or west coast cure bottle. Embossed on front: " S. B. / CATARRH CURE " Embossed around the base: " SMITH BROS / S. B. C. C. / FRESNO, CAL." Bottle is great condition with no chips, cracks, stain or dings. Only a few very light scratches. Some nice seed bubbles including some large seed bubbles add character to this piece. $28.00

ME- 18 WESTERN TONIC 8 3/4" tall, square shaped bottle. Lt. honey to orange amber color glass with a tooled top. Embossed on two sides, (first side) : " WAIT'S WILD CHERRY TONIC " (second side) " THE GREAT TONIC". Base is embossed with the marking of the Holt Glass Works of Berkeley California. This bottle comes from the Sacramento, California area. Bottle is in near mint condition! One small in the making burst bubble on the shoulder of the un-embossed side of the bottle is the only thing, shown in last picture. Does not take anything away from this piece. No scratches, dings, chips, or stain!. $60.00

ME- 19 APPLIED TOP! 9" tall, lt. aqua glass, rectangle shape, applied double collar lip and a smooth base. Embossed on four indented panels: (front) " HOOD'S / SARSA / PARILLA " (side) " C. I. HOOD & CO. " (back) " APOTHECARIES " (side) " LOWELL MASS ".This bottle is in super mint condition and also has nice crude, bubbly glass. Bottle also leans to the front. This is the older Hood's Sarsaparilla bottle that has apothecaries embossed on the back and also the applied drippy glass top. SOLD

CHINESE MEDICINE ME- 20 2" tall, small rectangle shape with a tooled ring lip and a smooth base. Light cobalt blue glass with loads of crudeness. Embossed on front in a slug plate is Chinese writing. A nice bottle with a few problems. A small lip ping which looks worse than it is in picture #3 and some light stain on the upper back part of the bottle. This is still a nice little bottle in a rare color. SOLD

ME- 21 CHICKEN CHOLERA CURE 6" tall, rectangle shape, yellow amber glass that is darker at the top and neck, lighter color in the body and then darker again at the base. Tooled ring lip with a smooth base. Embossed on the front only: " 6 oz. / L. F. GANTER'S / MAGIC / CHICKEN / CHOLERA / CURE / L. F. GANTER / MEDICINE CO. / GLASGO KY. / U. S. A. " Bottle displays super mint but there is a large, near the surface, bubble that has a small break in the glass ( burst bubble) on the M in MAGIC. Also, there is a pin point ping on the front base heal. These are not bad and only noted for accuracy. A very nice clean bottle otherwise. A rare Kentucky cure bottle! No chips, cracks, scratches, haze or stain. SOLD

ME- 22 6 1/8" tall, bright western aqua glass with quite a few bubbles, tooled double collar lip with a smooth base, rectangle shape with camphor corners and 3 sunken panels. Embossed on the front panel: " BUTTE - TINE " on right panel " ABIETINE MEDICAL CO. " on left panel " OROVILLE , CAL. U.S.A. " This bottle comes from a small town in Northern California. Bottle is in near mint condition with one small open bubble above the C in Cal. and a very small lip chip, not bad! Bottle displays sparkling mint. SOLD

ME- 23 4 3/4" tall, rectangle shape, aqua glass, open pontil base, with beveled edges a tapered collar. 3 sunken panels embossed: "S. S. Seely & Co / Morris' / Otsego County / New York" A nice clean bottle with no problems at all. A scarce early 1800's bottle. $75.00

ME- 24 2 1/2" tall, rectangle shape, bim, amber glass with a flat collar ring lip and a smooth embossed base. Embossed on three indented panels. Side panel : " W. H. COMSTOCK " Front panel : " MORSE'S INDIAN / ROOT PILLS " Side panel : " DOSE 1/2 TO 4 " On the base is embossed : " BOTTLE MADE IN JAPAN " This is strange because the bottle was blown in a mold and is old! Bottle is in mint condition $15.00

ME- 25 4 7/8" tall, rectangular shape, aqua glass, tooled, double collar lip and a smooth base. bottle has 3 indented panels. Embossed on one side panel, " THE HOLDEN DRUG CO. " (on the front panel) " HOLDEN'S / ETHEREAL COUGH SYRUP " (on the other side panel) " STOCKTON CAL. " A near mint western patent medicine bottle with no chips, cracks, dings, or stain. SOLD

ME- 26 FROM PORTLAND, OREGON 3 1/4" tall, rectangle shape bottle, cobalt blue glass, flat collar ring lip. Embossed on the base only: "WOODARD / CLARKE & CO." A nice small, colored glass western medicine or drug store bottle. Super mint condition! $20.00

ME- 27 Embossed in recessed oval panel on front of bottle / Lord's / Picture of Man breaking and jumping on crutches / Opodeldog. 5" Aqua oval shape bottle. Mint except for a chip from side of lip. Displays mint! I don't know what came in this bottle but it looks like some kind of cure or medicine. $20.00

ME- 28 2 7/8" tall, violin shape, smooth base, bim, aqua glass with a rolled lip. Embossed on four sides, "(1st side) London / (front side) Rob t / Turli / ngton / For His / Invented / Balsam / Of Life / (3rd side) Jany. / (back side) By The / Kings / Royal / Patent / Granted" There is a lot of embossing on a bottle so small. Near mint condition, bottle has two small pin point dings. No chips, cracks, or stain. $45.00
